I tried to install Nero (afer completely uninstalling EZCD), but after I did, I lost the CD and DVD drives.
Any suggestions? I keep hearing good things about Nero, but can't seem to get it loaded.
Trying to install it onto Windows XP, using lates Nero version.
Thanks in advance.

Try this download each time Nero messes with your IDE controller - [admin : link removed since it does not relate to post]
Hope it works for you!

Link above was removed after another member reported the post above.
The post lead to a page with an email/newsletter/"potential-SPAM" signup page, and this is not appropriate for this topic/forum, since it provided no download as stated in the post.
It could be that the link posted is incorrect, in which case, the member can feel free to post the new (and correct) link.
O.K. Let's try again - it worked great for me I hope it helps you.

If you get a pop up just close it - I can't seem to get around it. The download is right beneath it.
Good Luck!

Hi Ron
Thanks for the link - this seems to be the correct link. I think the last link you gave was actually the link for the pop-up (http://www.driverguide.com/4pop.htm), so that's why it was removed.

you might wanna try and re-enter the registration for nero according to what burner you have...for every manufactured brand burner, there's a different registration key... that might help...:angelgrn:

"afer completely uninstalling EZCD" is what did you in. You could spend forever and a day trying to figure this one out because there is no clue to what causes it. I uninstalled it also before trying to install Nero 5.5 and lost all my CDs & DVDs also and when I found out what caused it I got pretty angry at R o x i o but not just for this problem. Their software needs a fix in order for my Yahmaha firewire CD-RW to work and they refuse to write it. Basically they have just abandoned those customers and not even posted any info about it. Fortunately, I called Yahmaha and they are sending me a licensed copy of Nero. Yamaha good - R o x i o bad. Anyway, when you uninstall EZCD4 in W2K, and I assume WinXP as well, it hoses up your registry and you have to go into it with regedit to fix it. See what I mean? Who would have thought that this was the problem. I spent a lot of time looking through the MS Knowledgebase and eventually stumbled over the fix: Q270008. Good luck! I hope that this works for you.
