Hey all, quick question.

Is there any freeware software that can convert or put a video encoded in XviD into an exe format?

The reason I ask is I'm creating an auto-run cd, but one of the limiting options of the software I'm using wont allow the opening of AVI files at the push of a button, only EXEs can be launched. So I was thinking about putting the AVI into an EXE instead. Any ideas?

Any help would be appreciated!

Well the way i could have an auto run CD for my system (XP) is to right click on the drive D:\ or E:\ whichever one you want. And then choose properties, then choose auto play, select video files from the drop down menu, and then choose windows media player or whatever player you want that is in the list. Hope this is what you mean.

have a look at Media Player Classic (http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/), it can be started from a command-line application and accepts several options.

"Hobbit's DVD Launcher", despite its name, will allow you to create autorun .AVI Cds...
