I have been playing around with this most of the weekend and no luck.
I was following the DVDFAB tutorial re splitting to 2 discs
(I'm trying the best of red hot chilli peppers)
Ripped to PC with DVD Decrypter
Viewed in DVDFab with Daemon tools
But when full disc is selected I get a MSG telling me it's a DVD9 and I can't split to 2 DVD 5's.
Is it just that some can't be done?

It seems to me that the music DVD's are quite hard to chop around because they don't just have a standard menu system
i.e. main movie and extras.
What I really want to do is keep everything including menu's but split to 2 discs.
I have tried DVDXCopy, DVDFab and DVDClone3

Give DVD Shrink (freeware) a go......

You can d/l it from : http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/

Select "Open Files" and navigate to your ripped files.

wow that was a quick reply

sorry I forgot to mention good old DVD Shrink

to big to compress to one disc
what I ended up doing was reauthoring and putting main movie on one disc then all the extras on another
so I lost all menu's.
makes navigating around do some weird things, its passable but I thought there was a better way.
I find it hard to know what the hell all the parts are, which to miss out, some are doubled up even the main movie was there twice

Have you tried Re-Shrinking your shrunk files......? You will loose quality but it may fit.

or you could replace a few of the extras with still images giving you a bit more space. (If you are using 3.2)

thanks thats a good point about the still images
I am using 3.2.
I havent tried reducing it more, I dont want to lose that much quality.
weird that it refuses to backup even though the automatic setting is 57%

probably due to the large audio stream
