After installing the DirectX 8.1 SDK i cannot playback a single DivX movie! I get the following sequence of error mesages (dialogs are marked with a leading "|":

| Hard coded break point
|
| "invalid audio but not signaling an error."
| At line 483 of e:\dx8_2\multimedia\dshow\filterus\avi\avimsr\avii ndex.cpp
| Continue? (Cancel to debug)

[no]

| bplay.exe - Fatal Application Exit
|
| Application terminated

[ok]

| ASSERT Failed
|
| g_cFGObjects == 0
| At line 5829 of e:\dx8_2\multimedia\dshow\filters\core\filgraph\fi lgraph\filgraph.cpp
| Continue? (Cancel to debug)

[no]

| bplay.exe - Fatal Application Exit
|
| Application terminated

Have anybody experienced this, and is there a way to avoid the problem and still keep the SDK?

Thanks!

Since you installed the developers kid, you are supposed to know alot more about direct show than the rest of us here. It looks like a conflict in the way the directshow is setup to play avi's.
Dig in to the cpp file and have fun ??

I'm not a directX wizz so laugh at will ...

I hope you find an answer here, maybe better to try the microsoft knowledge base? or email Bill (bill@microsoft.com)
