Hi all,

I've just purchased a tub of Ritek 8x's (G05) and my standalone just ejects them. Of course, my benQ burner plays them just fine.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks!

To determine the capabilities/limitations of your specific brand and model of standalone DVD player, as well as media compatibility, go to:

Thanks,

I have checked there already. It plays Longten 4x discs no problem at all.

Any other thoughts?

"It plays Longten 4x discs no problem at all. Any other thoughts?"

And this has WHAT to do with, "I've just purchased a tub of Ritek 8x's (G05) and my standalone just ejects them."????

One more time:

And this has WHAT to do with, "I've just purchased a tub of Ritek 8x's (G05) and my standalone just ejects them."????

Does the site I provided indicate that Ritek's (You haven't even stated if they are DVD+R or DVD-R) ARE or ARE NOT compatible with your standalone player?

Try burning the G05 at 4x. This may help create good discs on media that does not seem to work at 8x.

Also, you should at least play the burned disc and chapter forward through each chapter to ensure the disc is readable. Of course, this is not a total test but will catch a pretty bad disc.

Thanks Windtrader

I have tried at 4x but with no luck. BTW, they are -R's Setarip...and they (-R's) are compatible w/ the Pioneer DV-C505 standalone.

Took a disc I made over to a friends and it played on Their Sony just fine. It looks like the Pioneer just doesn't like the G05's at all.

Thanks for all your help people. I do appreciate the thoughts on the subject!

I hope you all have a great Xmas!

By George, I think I found it!

I believe the problem with these blanks was that I had "Burn at least 30 mm to disk" etc. checked in Shrink. After removing it, I burned Sky Cap and it played back flawlessly.

The mystery may have been solved...
