Just wondering how you would go about doing something like this? Guides or general info would be great. :)

I guess you can always have a TV out wire going from your graphics card into your VHS player. No idea whether video format will be an issue though. Give it a try and see if it works.

Perhaps you should try converting the video format to the one that your video player uses then (ie. PAL --> NTSC or vice versa).

No experience in this, but giving it a try anyway. :)

If your graphics card supports tv-out you could link directly to tv.

I might give that a go, Enchanter.

Batman, I do have TV-Out and link it directly to my TV to watch. But I can't record it when it doesn't go through the VCR, right?

Try connecting to your VCR instead...

Just a thought here. I have heard of some sort of copy-protection technology that prevents the copying of VHS tapes to another. There is a kind of interference signal incorporated into the tapes. When played, the interference is not picked up by the TV and hence nothing bad to see on-screen. However, VCRs pick these up and hence whatever your recording looks like garbage. It does not necessarily apply to this problem, but I thought you might be interested to know. :)
