Hi.

I'm working in the divx of Alien 2:
This movie has audio problems. The music sounds too high in some scenes, to hear the voices and fx is almost impossible. I've heard (maybe false) that using a 5.1 ac3 speakers system there is no problem. So i've tried to separate ac3 audio channels using ac3dec in order to change the gain of the channels. But, it crash to me, both, from ac3 and from vob files.

Any idea? Any suggestion to repair the audio problem? Any other program like ac3Dec?

Thanks.

Have you already created the DivX-compressed .AVI file? If so, what is the audio format of the .AVI?

If you haven't as yet created the .AVI, what software will you be using to convert the .VOBs to .AVI?

Is it your intention to have an AVI with .AC3 audio, MP3 audio, WAV audio?

Sorry for my explanation.
I want to make a 4.12 divx with vbr mp3 sound.
I have no problems ripping the movie in the standard way. My problem is that i want to repair this audio problems.

i used vob2audio to extract the sound of the entire alien legacy box to wav, then normalized the sound stream and turned it into an mp3.

i did not encounter any trouble with any of the four sound streams.

IMHO it's not a normalization problem. See the (chapter 14) 1h13m fragment of the movie, and you will see what i say. The music sounds too high, the voices and fx sounds too low. There are more fragments of the movie where this happens.

What i want to try is separate the ac3 channels and change the gain of them. There is a main music channel?.
ac3dec can get the channels from ac3 and from vobs, but this two options it crashes to me with this movie. Do you know any other program like this?

Thanks.

Try Vobrator.

By the way, I'd be surprised if there is a separate music channel...

Vobrator don't show the ac3 sub-channels :( . Thank you very much anyway.

I get "!! Invalid mantissa !!" with ac3dec. Does anyone know how to solve this floating point error?

i'm desperated.

Thanks.

"Vobrator don't show the ac3 sub-channels"

If the video has multiple audio tracks and Vobrator is not showing you multiple "AES" streams, e.g. AES(0x80), AES(0x81), and AES(0x82), then there's something wrong with your rip.

You can try out besweet perhaps, this may work.
Use besweet and besweet GUI also download lame and azid.
Then set LFE to LR channel to -3db and perhaps it can work.
You can also find a guide at http://www.doom9.org/ac3tomp3.htm for complete AC3 2 MP3.
Let us know how it works out.

Thanks all.
Erci, this program is what i was looking for.
UncasMs if you didn't change any parameter in the sound stream is the same i have.

I'll post my results of this research.
