Have Fun ;-)

Sparad0x,

I appreciate that you're only helping out the French speaking people when you perform these translations but at the same time you're really p1ssing me off with what you release.

It's MY program, I'm the one who's put years into it and yet you feel a few hours doing a bit of translation give you the right to edit it beyond that of simply 'translating' it.

To me, that's just not on.

By all means, go ahead and translate it. Add your name to the about box, change the forum link to your own if you like, but leave all the other links pointing to where they should be.

Changing my donation link makes you the lowest form of scum on the planet.

I could stop work on the app at any moment because of people like you - and I'd be sure to say that in my closing speech.

Just remember that next time you go hacking away at peoples work.

Guys, you both do a great job, please find an agreement !
Translations of a program have to respect its original author...

Hi BoF,

I'm sorry but I'm in agreement with LightningUK! on this one. It is his program.
Sparad0x should have at least consulted with Lightning.

If many people decided to do this and Decrypters development ceased that would be a very very bad day for the DVD Backup community.
:)

Mig$y, that was the meaning of my previous message : DVDDecrypter is not under the GNU/GPL licence and belongs to his author LIGHTNING UK! . Tanslations DO have to respect his work.
I just hope that LIGHTNING UK! and Sparad0x can find an agreement to present these translations as a real DVDDecrypter feature.
Sparad0x should retire his current translation and reconsider some of the changes he made..

I fully agree with LIGHTNING UK!; but when I had sent some PM to him about my translating job (it was version 3.1.9.0), I have had no answer until I released it to download!
So I have been a little bit provocative.
Today, I have an answer! That's a good think!
"By all means, go ahead and translate it. Add your name to the about box, change the forum link to your own if you like, but leave all the other links pointing to where they should be."
Thank you very much! I will do every think to satisfy LIGHTNING UK!, and I will add a donate link to him on my website. The actual french release will be updated tomorrow morning.
LIGHTNING UK!:
May I keep the modified update link, so that french people may have an update for french version?
May I consider that this message gives an official form to my translation?
Would you be interested to use my website as the official french website and forum for DVDDecrypter (partnership)?
Will you forgive me?

Best Regards to everybody!

Sparad0x, how nice of you to add the donation link for LIGHTNING UK! for the HIS program on your website :smashead: and yet remove it from the program itself!!!

I've never bothered to say anything until now, but I honestly can't believe you have done this. Leave the donation link in the program alone. If people are going to donate to you for the translation then they would surely do it via your website and not from within the program?

You obviously have no idea how much time and effort has and is still going in to the continual development.

Very disrespectful

Sorry Imao2k, but I'm not sure to have understood what you mean...

The real problem only concerns Lightning UK! and myself!
I wanted a dialog: I have a dialog! I just hope Lightning UK! will not brake it even if it could seems to be justified!

You obviously have no idea how much time and effort has and is still going in to the continual development. Really?

I intend on offering offcial means of translations in the near future....hopefully in 3.6.0.0 - which will probably come after 3.5.3.0

Of course you'll be my first point of call for the French one - if that's ok?

Then you can call yourself the official french translator. You'll get mentioned on my website, and in the program itself.

Like I said in my first post, I'm happy for you to provide the translation service, I just don't (didn't) like everything you'd changed.

Hell, I'll even add another link off the help menu so you can have that link to your website if you want?! Just leave the 'official' links alone - ok?

Sparad0x

One link in the help menu would be perfect!!!
May I keep the modified update link so that french people may be notified when a new french version is available, or not?

Thank you very much for this answer, Lightning UK!

P.S: Check your MP in about 2 min

Well...
Having received no answer about my last question and no comment over the file I have sent yesterday to Lightning UK!, I will update it "as is".

Best Regards!

Thank you very much gentleman
