PS KHP needs more experience! LOL
Seriously, fast motion does the job for me when capturing and encoding, I GOT TONS of proof, people love it!

u insult me, I insult u
Well I've always stayed open to all ideas and suggestions, as there is never one perfect way to do anything. There are just far to many people out there with one way or no way views.
If we all stuck to that idea we would all own Mac's and the world would stop turning :)
I get a lot of stick, as I will never encode the sound at 48,000Hz and always downsample to 44,100Hz when encoding on every movie I make. Loads of people say I am killing the quality for no good reason, but I have never had a movie which others could not play and never had sync probs in all the time I have being encoding. Plus it don't sound much different to me. I have done 48k, but a few people had prob's with not so perfect sound cards.
Anyway Nicky's to blame, as it was his Flask guide that got me going in the days of DiVX 3 and I have stuck to it since.
They way I look at it not everyone has a system as good as what you used to encode your movie.
Ooh look I wrote a book ;P

I have written a BOOK! LOL!
Exactly, we got our own methods, we stick to it!

I picked up a couple of those GeForce4 MX jobbies tonight and I must say the TV-Out is very good even at 1024x768.
The 3D side aint bad either for £99.00 for a 64mb card.

Techno

Oh I will m8, don't u worry!
Remember, I said that I capture and encode to fast motion, brilliant quality, my college lecturers yesterday were impressed with the picture quality and file size!
Techno
I was buggering about with a bad encode of Finding Forester that came out to big, plus to dark and blurry.
I thought sod it and stuck it through V-Dub using sharpen and brightness/contrast filters. Now normally it's not a good thing to re-encode an encoded movie (always best to encode the vob again).
Well I was more than pleased when the resulting movie came pretty damed good for quality, much clearer and more refined.
It also reduced in size from by just enough to fit on a CD - Cool!
I did Knights Tale and a few others and all are much better, plus only takes about 30mins to re-encode. A lot quicker than back to the vobs :)

re-encoding in MPEG2 or fast motion?
Techno
PS, get the mcflurry!
