Hello Friends,

I've got a brand new copy of a movie called "Intermedio"(it is a brand new disk released in 2005). This movie will not open directly in dvdshrink 3.2.

So I used dvddecrypter 3.5.4 and was able to decrypt the movie to my harddrive. When I try to open the VIDEO_TS file in dvdshrink, it either throws up a generic error saying that " dvdshrink encountered an error and cannot continue - Programming exception error" and then crashes the dvd shrink program

OR

It just crashes the dvdshrink program

When i look at the dvddecrypter log files, everything looks fine. The files were decrypted sucessfully without a problem. Can anyone shed some light on this?

cheers

Hello and Welcome to the forums. Most likely the movie "Intermedio" contains the new "ARccOS" copy protection scheme. As an experiment, try using "NeroRecode" or "DVD2One" to compress the DVD. Also, you may find the information contained in the following thread helpful:

Ormonde,

unfortunately NeroRecode and DVD2One did not work. I also installed DVD43 as the link suggested and that did not seem to work also. I'm also trying to burn another movie called "September Tapes" and i'm getting a totally different error. I'm going to put a new post up on the forum about it.

If you have any other ideas, please let me know

thanks

Uninstall DVD43. It causes more problems than it solves.

Now, identify exactly what the error says after proramming error and then click on FAQ Index in my sig and find a thread there (in the DVD Shrink error codes section) which, hopefully, will solve your problem.

Thanks Blutach and Ormonde for the help.

I tried several times to open the "Intermedio" disk using DVDShrink and finally it worked.

It should be noted that the ArCCos disks are tricky and might take several attempts in order to actually get it working.

Blutach, the links in your sig are amazing!

Thanks again for all your help
