Hello
I've just bought a ATI All In Wonder Radeon 7500 card with TV-out. Now i wan't to see my DVD-movies on my television via my computer, but some stupid protection from ATI or Macrovision prevents me from using the TV-out feature to see DVD's.
When i play the movie it displays on my monitor fine but when i use the TV-out to get i displayed on the TV there is just a black hole where the movie should have been.
How can i fix this problem...
Please help me.

There is a forgotten easy trick to defeating Macrovision. This is how I do it: 1st--go into display properties and disable the TV-out on your video card. 2nd-start PowerDVD,then pause it at the beginning of the movie. 3rd-go into display properties and ENABLE the TV-out on your video card. 4th-unpause the movie and it will play with no Macrovision. I do it in WindowsXP using PowerDVD 3.0 and my ATI All-in-Wonder Card...Mark

If you want to watch DVDs on TV without Macrovision, you should try DVDIdle 1.20.
It has Macrovision-Free feature, which supports PowerDVD 3.0/XP, WinDVD 2000/3.0, CinePlayer 4.0 and other player softwares.
No matter what video card you are using, DVDIdle can disable Macrovision for you.

I've only had this card installed for a couple days, but here's what I've learned.
You can delete/rename ATITVo32.dll found in the system32 directory to eliminate macrovision. I've tested this under XP using PowerDVD 4.0 and it plays through a VCR with no Macrovision.
I also noticed that when using dual display ie. monitor/TV that the TV won't play the video if the refresh rates aren't the same for both displays.

Hey markst1!!!
That trick no longer works with PowerDVD XP...not with my system!! I use a Prophet 4500 KyroII and that trick only worked with PowerDVD 2.55!! I never tested version 3.0!!
DVDIdle or Remote Selector may be a solution!! i don't know if it works though!
Cheers!!
