Hello,
I've just bought a new dvd/divx player (JVC) but I only have xvid files, and I want to convert them to divx..
Is there a program who can do that, om a easy way?
Thanks

Welcome to the Digital Video Forums of Digital Digest!
There are apparently several models of JVC standalone DVD players that playback XviD as well as DivX files. Are you certain that your model cannot play XviD files?
What is the model number?
If you have more questions, always feel free to ask them...

I've checked the JVC website and there I saw that this player only supported DIVX, but maybe they don't if it is able to play Xvid.
The modelnumber is: XV-N422
Have you actually tried to play a XviD in the player yet?

Use Gspot or Avicodec (both free) to get the specs/info on an avi or mpeg 1/2 video file
XviD is a open source video codec that is based on MPEG-4. Both XviD and DivX evolved from the Mayo open source project; however, DivX became a commercial product, while XviD (DivX backwards) is distributed under the GPL license. For more information, visit www.xvid.org.
