I have been able to backup my dvds successfully using dvd decryptor and shrink, but I began to notice that dvddecryptor is doubling the size of the file it creates. So if I just have a movie less than 2 hours that I wouldn't need shrink for, all of a sudden I do need shrink because decryptor has doubled the file size!

Is there something in the settings that I have wrong, so that decryptor thinks it is a dual layer disc or something? I will never be using dvd9's, so what should I do to correct this? Please enlighten me............

If you have altered a setting, then in DVD Decrypter, go into tools - settings and click on defaults, OK and try again. Your problem is unheard of, AFAIK. DVD Decrypter does a 1:1 rip, as you have experienced before.

It has nothing to do with hours, it has to do with bytes. The number of bytes in the original should = the number of bytes ripped.

Now, if DVD Shrink comes up with 2 titles, roughly equal in length, that is simply a function of titles that share the same cells. In DVD Shrink, go to View-Combine shared titles and you will be OK.
