NO DMA\advance sitting

my DVD player play only CD movies not DVD, I learn from this site that I have to enable the DMA on the IDE, but when I go there and click on the properties of the IDE, I found there is no advance sitting, and the sitting base said current sitting and does not let me change it. and I found this through all the system, NO avance sitting, and when search for the maine files, it tell me it is in default and there is no value.

my computer is XP
Pentium 4 2.53
memory 532
DVD driver is Toshiba

can someone please help, why there is no advance sitting in my system and how can I fixe it

My DVD player plays only movies from silver coated CD not from a gold coated CD,

I received the following message, windows can not read from the disk, it may be corrupted. Or it could be using formate that not compatible with windows.

I notice that the player with gold coating dvd has it is light one all the time even if I disconnect the 40 pin cable, but it does not do this with silver coated DVD.

I download two codec packet. FFshow and XP codec package and only after I install them and I try to watch a movie the first screen of the movie show up on the power DVD but when I hit the play, the DVDpower freeze and eject the movie then I start receiving the above nessage. And with subsequent movies I receive only the message. Some time by accident it can play a movie but when take the movie out and put again it do not recognize the dvd and given above message.

I can not change the setting because there is no advance setting page in the properties of any of the above and even through the PC system. All what I find is setting based in current configuration in gray color ( in Resources page). can not be changed. The transfer mode information of the above was obtained from intel accelerator report.

Please can any one figure out why my DVD player has this problem. All those movie are rent from block buster
