Probelm with Divx Playback, Please Advise

I downloaded a divix/xvid movie and first time i play it in windows media 9, I get no sound and a report of error downloading codec. I used afreecodecVT which dected the avi as a xvid.

I tried installing latest divix, latest xvid binaries and finally install nemos codec pack 8. After the codec pack the file plays back too fast, like fast forward with choppy audio and video. Anyhelp finding the correct codec here would be greatly apreciated.

false alarm sorry guys, i just grabbed the ac3 filter and it fixed the audio and video problmes.

I would get rid of any codec pak. only install a codec when/if it's needed

indeed, codec packs create nothing but trouble....
