Converted AVI has no sound...

All of a sudden I am having problems with this. I have used winavi 6.2 to convert VOB files to avi files and never had a problem in the past. Now I am trying to do it again and the video is fine but I have no sound at all. I am using the same program but I have since restored my PC and was thinking maybe I had some codecs that were lost in the restoration. I have tried several different codec packs but with no luck. Any ideas?

do they have sound when simply played back on the pc?

can you tell me audio details of the file(s), if not post a screen shot of the audio info from virtualdub mod or gspot.

I am able to play the VOB file with sound no problem. I am using vlc player to do so...Here is a link to the gspot info..

I have had ace mega codec pack installed, Divx bundle, and xp codec pack...right at this moment all thats on my system is divx/xvid.. i think
