pata-sata

which plug type do I have? How do I find out?

I'm looking to fit a bigger HD & dvd writer & then use dvdshrink.

I'll probably need an adapter for SATA.

Any recommensations.

Sorry to be a pain.

Thanks.

Please post in the correct forum. I already moved this one, as it had nothing to do with DVD Shrink.

I purchased a Sata/150 PCI controller card and it came with 1 power adapter for the sata drives. It adapts a normal IDE power connector male to SATA female

You should have a booklet with your motherboard that tells you which type of drive it supports. If you don't have the booklet then you can Identify the mobo and other system information with BIOS Agent 3.45 (http://www.download.com/BIOS-Agent/3000-2098-10398748.html)

Once you know the mobo model, you can check the manufacturers website for the info.
