Burning one with the LG burner, it liked the Yuden 8x +r clonded media
code. There's no reason quality dvd blanks can't be made wherever.
After all, the Japanese and Germans brought their car quality to America.
I am also having great success with cheap DVD's. I decided to try some unbranded DVD-R's with TDK dye. They cost £4.99 for 50 and so far every one has worked fine. I only use them for TV recording as they are perfect for it.

"Are they actually branding them as TY these fakes?"
They are not fakes(technically) altho they are made
in hong kong, the dyes are imported from japan and
technology liscensed from Phillips(hence the yuden)
media code. Since the quality is comprable to Japan
made media, it seems on the up and up.

Philips is in charge of ALL dvd+r liscensing.
