Hey I am new here and hope this is the right place to ask a question. I am ready to throw my computer threw the window. I had nero and dvd shrink. all was going well until we had a problem seeing a web cam. My husband tryed to mess with the firewall and basically we lost our dsl and screwed up our computer. well with the help of a person from the dsl. we have our internet back but it removed programs from my computer. nero being one of them. I have tried to re down load it but it dosnt seem to be downloading right or something. I encode my shrink and than instead of burning it says ready to burn with a burning program. I caint get it to work againl or download it right or something. I have tried all last evening and most of today. I am ready to just cry already. any advise.

AH!
mmmm.... If it were me I would reformat the hdd and reeinstall your OS....
But I fear that neither of the users (you and your husband no offense) seems to know much about the workings of the PC.... So to speak...
So I would kindly require more information to start working on a possible solution....
There is a solution.... Maybe!
First what operative system (OS) have you got?
Windows 95/98/98SE/ME/2000/XP?
Why do you say it's not downloading right or something?
ANY error messages?
How would you describe what the dsl guy/person help or did to your pc?

We did a system restore in an attempt to restore our windows internet explorer. Reason for doing this was we were unable to access the internet due to a programing problem. This is where I think the problem actually occurred, during the system reset.
After the system restore The program stated files were missing and that we should re-download the Nero program. Which we did. However it will not kick in after the encoding session is done.
We origionally purchased the Nero Program on the internet and dowloaded it from their web site. Have not seen any error messages.
We use windows XP home version. The DSL person just Told us how to temp. turn off the fire wall when reloading the dsl disk. Reloading the disk corrected the no internet access problem. I don't think this would affect the nero problem. I think the Nero problem was caused by the system reset. We can't figure out why we can't download a working version( the one we purchased)

Easy solution. Count your blessings and don't reinstall Ner0. Install DVD Decrypter (if you don't already have it).
From DVD Shrink: Backup → Select backup target → ISO image file and burn with DVD Decrypter
And next time you're in trouble, remember System Restore.

Besides that excelent bit of news by Our furry friend a tool that will uninstall all of Nero components and perform a registry clean is also recommended... followed by a reeinstall of either Nero 6 or 7.
Find that Clean tool here (http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/Nero_6_CleanTool.html) How to use clean tool (http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/Nero_6_CleanTool.html)
It is also recommended that you use this tool before installing Nero 7
