Excessive time taken

I backed up a DVD yesterday which took just over 1 hour to analyze, more than 1 &1/2 hours to encode & well over an hour to burn onto a RItex 4X disk.. My machine has a pentium 4 3GB, with 512 ram.

Isn't the time taken to do this job much too long?

Yes. DMA is usually the cause. Have you checked it? See link in my signature.

I already had DMA enabled. The option to use ultra DMA is greyed out.

I don't quite understand this. I can't find any Ahead folder. I did however find a Nero History log under programfiles>Nero. When I look at this log the moost recent thing mentioned is dated 20.9.05 for early in the morning. The disk that is in question was burned with Shrink & Nero & was done last night & my clock is correct.

I finally found the log but it's too long. Apparently I'm only allowed 15000 characters & this log is almost 20000. I suppose that I could put part of it in a second post. Or is there any part of it that's not essential?
