I downloaded the divx 3.11, but when I tried to install, it said that it wasn't approved for use with windows xp, will this mess up my computer if I install it? Is this what I need to play videos of AVI format that need a different codec? Thanks for your help

ok, I loaded it, it asked me if I wanted to over write a newer file, I said no. It still won't play the AVI file. Any suggestions?
