what does it say under current setting when you choose +R ?

I see where it's remembering it, just have to verify it's doing it, never noticed it in the log as it was burning.

found the setting to save log and not overwrite, durn!

Stuck disk back in and saw current profile dvd+r but scrolled
down to see physical format info(last recorded)
book type DVD-ROM!

when its finished it should tell you the booktype in the right hand pane

Is it normal for the buffer to fluctuate a little on an 8x burn?

my device buffer fluctuates a bit

ram in use is nice, less than half of nero 6.6xxxxx
btw the 3550/4550 is supposed to be the best burner NEC
has made since the 3500.

the 4550 is certainly quick at ripping, i have seen some scans over at isf that look good
