HELP
I'm having the heck of a time getting my movies to play on my big tv. I tried to remove macrovision by using Clad Dvd. It will still not play. What else could be stoping this? My ati radeon 7500? Resolution? Frame Rate? Need help. Does anybody now where some guides would be for information on how to cure this problem?

There is a forgotten easy trick to defeating Macrovision. This is how I do it: 1st--go into display properties and disable the TV-out on your video card. 2nd-start PowerDVD,then pause it at the beginning of the movie. 3rd-go into display properties and ENABLE the TV-out on your video card. 4th-unpause the movie and it will play with no Macrovision. Sounds complicated but can be done in less than a minute...Mark

You should download tvtool. You can get it here: http://tvtool.info/ play around with the demo see if you can get it to work for you. If you can get it it is well worth the 10 bucks.

HELP!!!!!
This is the scoop
Clad Dvd, FlaskMpeg, Divx5, Mp3, WM8
1. Clad Dvd Used to extract specific ifo and vobs without macrovision? (hopefully)
2. FlaskMpeg Encoded with WM8 (due to work pc = no Divx Support) Settings are Video-352*288, 25fps, deinterlaced, threshold of 2, interpolation, referance iDCT; Audio- decode audio, same as input, Post processing- HQ bicubic, Cropped, Keeping Aspect Ratio
3. Played through P3 1.2ghz, 512 mb ram, WinXP, WMP, ATI 7500 Radeon Mobility~> Video RCA~> Optimus VCR (converts rca to coaxial hopefully)~> Coaxial RCA 27' TV
I can see it work in my mind *Thinking really hard*
I can get the video of my desktop on my TV. It will even show the movie on the TV while encoding, but when regular playback is on, my Dvd players or Media Players, I get a movie playing on my laptop, but a blank screen in my TV's replica of my Media player or Dvd Player.
Please help.
P.S. the movie is a little jerky at places but the quality besides that is amazing. still working to fix the jerky video, but that should not restrict playback.

There is no reason a Divx or a "rip" would not output to your tv-out. If you are getting good output to your tv you've won half the battle. If you play the dvd and try to output it to your tv some movies, because of a copy protection, will not play :( You can rip the FULL movie (ifo's..everything) to your hard drive and then watch it with Win DVD or Power DVD I like DVD decrypter for this. This eliminates the copy protection from the movie. If you can output to tv then this will work.
You can still watch it straight from the DVD with some minor twiddling Read this completely and carefuly to learn how http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/articles/macrovision.html
This is where you can learn everything!! Your answer is here: but have patience and read. http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/articles/index.html

If you only want to watch DVDs on TV without Macrovision, you should try DVDIdle 1.20.
It has a Macrovision-Free feature, which supports PowerDVD 3.0/XP, WinDVD 2000/3.0, CinePlayer 4.0 and other player softwares.

Thanks for showing me those links, I'm weeding through them and a million possibilities right now, but in reference to this statement from you.
>>>>There is no reason a Divx or a "rip" would not output to your tv-out.<<<<
I'm not getting any Divx, Wm8, or Dvd on my tv at all. Should the ripped ones work?

Hi, silentshadow420,
If you can not get any Divx, Wm8, or Dvd on your tv at all, I think that's not Macrovision problem. Because Divx and Wm8 have not Macrovision protection.
You should refer the manual of display card to get it works. Sorry I can not help me.

Are you getting your desktop on your tv?? because if you are you can see avi's and everything else you normally see on your computer screen. Do you get a black screen on your tv when you open an avi file?? I have never heard of that before.
Tv-out is not always all that perfect. I don't know why video card manufacturers don't implement more features and support for it. If you are still having trouble the only thing I can tell you is that your problem is with your graphics card. At the begining of your thread it seemed as though your problem was macrovision related.

Yes you are correct. I get my desktop no problem there. I get no divx, wm8, or dvd playback. just a replica of my player with a black screen. This is very annoying. Is there any limitations from the TV. I would assume, since the TV will broadcast my mpeg from my games and my winamp visualizations, that it could theoretically work. if this is an issue with the video card, why wouldn't the ATI original manufacturer have support for this issue. I think I'm going to send ATI an email to get this resolved. I have finally found a pdf on my video card. The manual states that I need to go from svideo to rca video to rf modulator to the tv. would the card limit you from rca video to vcr to tv. I'm going to attempt this new way soon, scared to waste my money on the parts if it will not work.
Thanks for all the help everyone has been providing. Truth is that this forum is the only helpful support I've recieved. Please keep the idea's rolling. I'm sure someone will stear me to the correct location. :D
I just finished trying to view the video in all different resolutions, but I only get a pink or black screen no video. I'm still looking for help so please someone submitt some assistance.
