Closed GOP for VCD

Hi,

I just wanted to know whether I can use the 'closed GOP' option in TMPGEnc 2.5 plus & Canopus Procoder 2.0 for making VCD movie. Will the movie play perfectly on my vcd player. Also will it improve or degrade the quality ?

Please I desperately need suggestions !

No problem with Closed GOP, no increase or decrease in quality, only it becomes difficult to edit the video later, if required.
