Hi mate!!

That it most probably the so called macrovision protection!! I think there is nothing wrong with your Kyro, since i've got one too and everything works fine through TV-out....everything but playing DVDs!! I get dark/light image stucking in my TV during playback of DVDs, using PowerDVD XP!

Now, if it is really the macrovision protection, try this tip: migrate back to PowerDVD v2.55 :\ Then, whenever you want to see a DVD through TV-Out, follow these steps: Run PowerDVD and load the DVD...and ONLY after doing so, switch to TV-Out mode and if everything went fine, PowerDVD will "forget" macrovision and you will get a perfect image in your TV...worked for me anyway!!

I think that is a bug in PowerDVD v2.55, however it was fixed in XP version...i don't know if this trick works in earlier versions, but these are the only versions i've got and i can assure you that it works in v2.55...

I wasn't really happy for roling back to an older version but it was worthy!!

Btw, i'm using PowerVr reference drivers, but i will risk to say this tip isn't affected by the Graphic card drivers, even i'm not sure!!

Hope this helps you somehow!!

If you only want to watch DVDs on TV without Macrovision, you should try DVDIdle 1.20.

It has a Macrovision-Free feature, which supports PowerDVD 3.0/XP, WinDVD 2000/3.0, CinePlayer 4.0 and other player softwares.
