View Full Version : Dick and Jane, burn process failed Shrink & Nero

I need some help, I am using the latest version of DVD Fab to rip and have nad no problems. Then I use the latest version of Shrink with Nero, version 6.6.0.18 and get an error that reads Burn Process failed. I have a Pacific Digital burner and have ripped and burned many movies, however for some reason Nero is giving me an error. I have also tried ImgBurn and it also gives me an error. My log is below,

I'm not sure but given what you say it is the media you are using. I had about 400 of those discs work fine, or so I thoght, until I go to play them back. Then the 5th 100 pk gave me 3 good burns out of 40 before i took them back. I'm not sure of the brand you are using but the Media is crap! Here is the post where I came to the bottom of it: http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=63647 , there are links to DVDIdentifier and nero cd-dvd speed which are good tools to use. The reason I mentioned Brand is I have had those discs in Phillips, Memorex, and Imation, now that I think about it those Memorex (spindle from costco) had high rates of failures and I haven't bought anymore Phillips since that episode, These were long before I knew as much as I do now.
As for Fun with Dick and Jane I'm watching my backup now, It had more PSL's than any other movie I have ever done and more fake and blank titles too (I just love Sony). I used DVDD along with the PSL2 plugin for PgcEdit, to rip it to my hard drive, Shrink to shrink it and ImgBurn to burn my ISO image. All onto fair media, and it works great. I'm trying to rid myself of all the fair media and from now on it will be only the High quality stuff for me.
As for firmware I don't fully Understand all to it but I have had much better results since I have upgraded mine. As I said I am using fair media and my success rate has improved with it since I have upgraded it.
If you have ImgBurn or DVDD on your computer just open one of them and right click on your burner and a drop down list will appear, click the check for firmware upgrade and it will tell you your current version and give you a list specifically designed for your burner. Be careful not to use the wrong one or you may have a useless piece of hardware.
