Hi,
I have several avi and mpeg files and would like to make a DVD with them (with menus, etc...). What are the proper tools for that? Can anybody help me with this?
Thanks.

For encoding .avi files to .mpg (mpeg-2), please try the excellent guide written by our own LT. Columbo.

For authoring DVD, jmet gives us a great guide below:

Hi,
Thanks for the help.
I still have two problems. What should I use to merge avi or mpeg files and bring the output to the same quality of image, even if the source files are of different quality. And second what are the values for the output file in order I don't get the message 'file is not suitable for a DVD movie'?
Cheers,
PJL

to avoid sync issues, use the authoring process to merge the files. if you want to retain quality, encode at the max bitrate (8000) and use shrink in the end with DA and AEC. you can't increase the quality of the original just retain it. if the source files are good, it will come out beautiful.
