Hmm, my keyboard came with software that let you customise the hotkeys. Maybe check if yours has that?

If you don't have a software disk, you can usually download it from the manufacturer's website.

Will that make all the silly buttons on my keyboard do what their pictures show?

It should, I have one of those fancy keyboards too with all of the microsoft office program keys and a how lot of other crap.
I found that by installing the solfware for it did make all of the keys work... However it tends to use up a lot of your memory.
So I uninstalled it and use it like a regualr key board. My HOT keys are all dissabled due to no software to run them. But I am no longer running out of memory either. Personaly I dont think the extra keys are worth it.

I ask because the print screen button doesn't work on my keyboard. I was viewing the thread about showing your screen in Off Topic and I couldn't get the print screen to work.

the print screen is one of the standard keys thats not an extra.
I have the same problem on this computer, I have other photo editing software that for some reason dissables that feature.
There have been a few thread on Screen shots that talked about the print screen.
On the computers in my home that dont have the same softwares the print screen works.
I use a program called snagit for taking screen shots if thats what your trying to do.

If all else fails and you cant get the print screen to work for you the snagit has a free trial for either 30 or 45 days. At least you could se if you like it.

It should help reset the default keys to there original setting. They may have been changed or disabled by uninstalling the software at some point.
Or, if you downloaded the wrong software thinking it was for your keyboard and wasn't. I did that once, it really messed me up!!
