Hello,
I am pretty sure my burner is shot, but what I am wondering if there is anything in my system that I can check to make sure it is the burner and not some driver or something like that somehow missing or corrupt?

Last night I got a few burn errors and today I tried to burn with IMGburn and the system crashed out.

I had to re boot 3 times to get the pc running again.
Now the pc seems to be running fine how ever the burner can not burn, or even read.

PC issue or Burner Issue??

Thanks,
:)

P.S it can how ever read and burn CD's

have you try to change to another firmware and test it out? before you buy another one

usually pc problems will impact all optical drives not just one.

you can go back to older one
I will try that.

It is reading and burn CD's with out a problem, Although I now that a DVD burner can go out on the DVD part and not the CD part of burning.

Thanks Night I will try an older firmware flash.:)

I tryed the older firwmware and no go. Looks like this dvd burner is now a cd burner while that lasts.

I have 2 new burners on the way from newegg.

Thanks for the tips.
