Has anyone had any experience with this (http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=52XCDRE3&cat=MED&cpc=MEDbsc)
style of media?
Very cool looking/old school!
I have been looking at it for awhile now, & it is sort of growing on me!

I bought the Verbatim ones for my wife but not at that good of a cost. I think they cost $7.99 Canadian for 10 c/w cases but they now want $14.99, nostalgia has a price. We have had no problem with them. If you like those, you should check out movie reel blank Verbatim dvd's.

You can 100 discs for $21.89. But how do they compare to regualr CD's?
That is the real question. LOL

you should check out movie reel blank
I will do that, thanks!
EDIT - I looked at movie reel blank, very nice! I saw a thread at CD freaks that said they were good quality for the most part - I wonder what chewy thinks of them? :D
By the way, did you ever do a Nero test on them to see what kind of results they would give?

Digital Movie DVD-R looks like a movie reel - with exclusive Metal Azo recording dye & superior archival stability, you can be sure your experience will last a lifetime.

I have to go earn a living soon but I will do the tests I can & post back to this thread hopefully today. Both the Verbatim audio & movie reel discs play fine but as far as the lifetime on the dvd's, we will see.
Edit: I think the ones that PA found were probably made first (1-4X). The ones that you found katz (1-8X). Chewy would know more about when their quality control started to slip.

I wonder what chewy thinksof them?
the 4x verbatim's are good, but way overpriced and obsolete, that idea went over like a lead ballon.

WOW $14.00 for shipping though :p
@chewy,
I know what you mean no shapies would show up on the black discs. The metalics would but the metalic sharpies screw up the DVD, I have a freind the destroyed her whole collection of dvd's by using the metalic sharpies.

Thanks, soup!
Can't argue with those results! Do you remember how long ago you burned those discs? I was all set to buy some until I noticed the $14.00 ship. (thanks PA)!
I think will keep looking - I still like the nostalgic appearance of the discs. Wonder why they didn't catch on more?

@ Chewy, it won't say who makes them. All I can get is the fact that they where made in Taiwan. BTW the LG is gone.
