You can copy a copy easier, slow readers help with old disks, etc

And if you ever get a disc that your burner has trouble reading, you might luck out and the other burner will. Stick the Samsung in your box and find the advantages first hand.

my main burners, benq 1650, nec 3550, 3540, LG 4163B A lot of us have 4+ burners, lol ! It is a disease that cannot be cured, but is only exacerbated by hanging out on here!
The only near remedy I have found is to purchase blanks in 300 + lots!
Seriously, though; If you do alot of CDR/DVD burning, it also allows you to spread the useage out over several burners, thereby not wearing out your favorite, trophy producing burner in 1 years' time (or less)!
*note* - I also run 4 burners - Benq (2) DW1655, (2)DW1650
cheers, katz :)

night -
For me, I can't really see a difference in the quality between the two; as far as the NERO tool scans go, the discs produced by both burners seem to be almost identical. I am using ty media at the moment, but have some verbs waiting in the wing to be used!
Benq all the way!!!
regards, katz :)

The main reason: if you have to copy more than one CD/DVD onto the hard drive, a second unit helps a lot.
It is also a precaution method: if one of the DVD burner fails, you just have to insert the disk into the other one.

I thought it was because the empty drive bays get lonely if they are not used.

Those empty bays if arranged right provide air flow for cooler burning.
Two burners in a 4 drive case works great.

The best answer would be for redundancy.
Its like running wire from point A to point B....its better to end up with more than enough wire than not enough! ;)

Chewy, do you have a 4 in the same case?
I do; I didn't give a lot of thought to the cooling/air flow, since they are installed top front; I was figuring since most of the heat is generated center/top/rear, (except for the HD area) that 4 burners stacked on top would be okay?

I have 5 dvd burners in 3 computers(1 is a spare and for sale)
I decided 4 hard drives and 4 dvd burners worked better in 2 seperate computers, I can multitask better that way.
keep the room cool

I have three Plextor drives in a huge four slot case. Seven or eight fans.
If I remember correctly you can have two drives running with Imageburn in Queue mode without any problems, if you have the power resources, and can keep everything cool. Then alternate between drives on the Queue list to help keep things cool.
