Hey guys,

I'm not sure where to put this so I'll try here. I've got the new Sony HDR-HC3,, which as I'm sure you guys know records in HD. Only problem is, in order to stream HD instead of DV to the comp, I need special software like Sony Vegas. Is there any freeware that can allow me to stream HDV?

tHanks,

Alex T

Hi! :)

Problem with that camera, well really isnt a problem, but it only records 1080I, not 1080P, thus is not actually a true HD camera. But close.

Video Signal:
NTSC Color EIA
1080/60I

That is one of the units I participated in its design. You would require an upscaler and mux filter to translate to 1080P, which software and a hefty PC can do, or a very expensive piece of hardware most commonly used by production houses and broadcast facilities.

I dont know of any freebie program to do that, but if your looking for the best possible conversion, you might go ahead and buy a program to get the best results....after all, your camera isnt exactly a cheapie, why settle for cheapie end results?!!!
