Removeing subtitles

how do I remove subtitles from a divX file?

You can't once the file has been encoded with the subtitles, they are there to stay

If the subtitles DON'T overlap the picture and are always below the picture, you can load the file into VirtualDub and crop off the bottom. If you like, you can then replace the area with black space.
