Hello,

This is prolly against forum rules to ask; "Whats the best......."
but I really want to know what the most effectieve way is to convert AC3 -> MP3 (using vbr 3) when ur encoding to divx (sbc);

- azid and Lame in gknot
- Headac3he
- vidub/nandub; full processing mode > compression > MPEG Layer-3(128/160kbps) > start encoding.

My guess is that eventually, with the same settings all will pretty much get the same qual results. But which one is the best to use for encoding divx:confused:

I use Graphedit (Extract AC3 sound to .wav) -> CoolEdit (To amplify the volume) -> LAME MP3 (Obvious). :)

I use Besweet because of the following features:

Automatic max gain.
No intermidiate wav file
vbr mp3 encodeing with lame.

I use both the metioned ways but most of the time the way enchanter does it:) This is because the filesize is smaller.
But I have had some probelm with it some times that's why I'm using BeSweet sometimes.

VBR gives trouble sometimes so use just ordinary MP3. Cause the VBR can have big file sizes.

I use wavlab to down sample to 44100Hz then convert that to MP3 CBR

Enchanter,
I tried usin graphedit some time ago but it made me dizzy :smashead: so I moved to headac3he and besweet..

khp,
:bglaugh2:

Erci,
the way enchanter? I never heard this1, is it good?

techno,
Is wavlab really good ? I actually prefer vbr to cbr...

yes it's good!

u can also use something like goldweave to downsample then save that wav and then encode as MP3 using LAME or something, but wavelab is good.

u can make VBR in wavelab to I think, can't remember, yes u can.
