Xvid vs DivX 5.01

Hi guys!

Some simple questions...

What is in your opinion the best codec for replacing DivX 4.12?

DivX 5.01 standard (Pro "free" version is "infected" by Gator's advertisment!) or latest relese of Xvid???

Another question (I'm a digital junior!): can DivX and Xvid co-exist installed on my pc or this could bring any problem? And can I play a movie encoded by Xvid on another pc with DivX codec only installed?

Xvid should coexists with any version of divx. I'am running both divx5.01 and xvid on my system.

As for your first question, that is up to you.
