I have encoded DVD ripped movie using DivX 5 pro and Xmpeg 4.2 (two-pass, bi-directional and GMS used) and got very poor results.

I have used 1300 kbps bitrate, but avi is too blocky and quality is lower than on some of my downloaded movies encoded with DivX 3.11 and lower bitrate.

Can anyone suggest how to achieve best quality for 2CD DivX with 2 sound tracks (i.e which version of DivX to use, which encoding program, what bitrate).

Thanks

Use Divx3.11 Alpha....is the best divx ever!!!!
For encoding use NunDab.This combination (divx3.11&nundab) will give u exceptional quality

Download GordianKnot...an exceptionaly encoding program(gknot include nundab)
With Gknot u will can easy calculate ur bitrate
