Is there a way to convert a pal dvd into an ntsc dvd and KEEP the disc intact?...By that i meen the menus and features, everything.I know you can do it with just the movie itself but ide like to find a way to do it to a whole dvd.

Oh and i have tried ifoedit and dvdpatcher to do this.they work but ifoedit gives me a disc without menu pointers and dvdpatcher is more suited to convert ntsc to pal.

It's very difficult, as it is currently almost impossible to recreate automatically the right menu highlights for the menu buttons.

The NTSC patch is a very dangerous trick, as it should not be supported by the players. And anyway, your DVD is still in PAL, but the output is not PAL nor NTSC. It's an hybrid mode that doesn't exist officially. IMO there is little advantage to do that.

And even if you can convert PAL to true NTSC, I don't understand why you want to do that. PAL -> NTSC is only a good way to loose the original quality of the PAL standard, to adopt the hideous NTSC standard. IMO, the best solution is to buy a cheap player able to play PAL DVDs correctly in NTSC land.

I can say that manono has found a method to do this for the menus.

It involves "goonix's method" as outlined in the sticky in IFO/VOB Editors on doom9.

I will post some more detailed info soon and I think manono is making a guide.

It is anything but simple, however, and not for the faint of heart.
