Ok, i've been trying to rip a several dvds to convert to vcd. I use the Demux option when i rip using smartripper, and produce an M2V and an AC3, so that I can take the ac3, decode it to wav, then take the m2v and the resulting wav and load them into TMPGEnc for encoding to vcd/svcd.
But when i select the m2v in the video source, it says "cannot open, or unsupported".
Now i have been able to load m2vs into tmpgenc before with other dvds, with all the same settings. Maybe these are missing an mpeg header?
Does anyone know where i can find a prgram that will fix these files to work with TMPGEnc?

Can I ask why you want to convert it to an M2V? The simplest way to create a VCD using TmpgEnc is to SmartRip(per) the VOB file and use DVD2AVI thats registered to VFAPI that will frameserve the file to TmpgEnc, I think the guide is on Nicky's pages and it works a treat

I figured just opening the resulting m2v/(ac3/wav) or vob from smartripper directly into tmpgenc for encoding would be more simple than using dvd2avi and vfapi as well. 2 programs are more simple than the same 2 plus 2 more, correct? and, furthermore, I have indeed only needed these two programs to rip full dvd films to vcd, using the same methods of handling smartripper and tmpgenc. I don't know what's different about these streams, other than maybe as I mentioned before, an mpeg header problem? I was simply asking if these were an mpeg repair program that could fix them so they would open in tmpgenc without any problem.
