View Full Version : Premiere 6 not allowing Mpeg-3 audio encode

Hey,

I'm suing Adobe Premiere 6 to encode some homemade vids using DivX, and even though it's supposed to be an option for the Audio encoding, Mpeg Layer-3 is not an option.

Does anyone know how to enable it or where to download it?

DivX is nice, but kinda pointless when I have uncompressed audio.

TIA

Download (and install) the Radium MP3 codec from DivX Digest (or a multitude of other sites)...

it still doesnt work ..you need to frameserve to tmpg to make your divx OR export as uncompressed avi and use vdub to make the divx.i will play around with this though...like as moving folders around..etc..you can choose divx under video compression but their aint much choice as far as audio formats.i have the radium codec installed on my machine and it shows up on everything except premier.

Thanks for the quick reply!
I tried installing the Radium codec, no go in Premiere.

Anyone else have an idea? I know that it IS possible, on Adobe's site they say that Premiere 6 should be able to do it out of the box for Windoze.

Why don't u use a different software to encode to DIVX? EG, DVDx, nandub, Virtualdub, vidomi etc....?

Erm.....save only the video.

Then put the audio and video together in virtualdub, make sure that both options have direct stream copy enabled/checked.

Yeah, Thanks!
I poked around a bit, got VirtualDub, and made it work.

I think that will be a good workaround, p[lay with the video in Premiere, export as uncompressed Video/Audio, and compress in Virtual Dub.

Thanks.

you could if you want frameserve to tmpg as i said..using the videowrapper as a bridge..as you are exporting from premier at the exact same time you are encoding with tmpg which will make a divx btw.....its not just for mpeg.i also played around with the different files and folders...my premier stayed the same and there is still no mp3 showing up as an audio export.
