Problem burning DVDs

I have been copying my kids dvds so they dont scratch the originals.
The prob i am havng now is that I nstalled ripit4me cos dvd shrink said burn process failed. But even with ripit4me it still does it and I have wasted 10 dvdrs doing this. Can someone please help me fix this problem.
