Im using IE 6 and have always been able to clear the internet history but now i can clear it but one site wont go away,
if i enter the letter "h" the url www.hirescovers.net (http://www.hirescovers.net) keeps coming back even if i have cleared all history and stuff.
This is annoying...
Is there a way to fix this ?
Regards
Sounds like an auto complete (http://www.microsoft.com/enable/training/ie6/inline.aspx) problem.
Did you restart IE6 after you cleared everything? (cache, temp files, etc.)

Download CCleaner. (http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/)
Run it and in its preferences, you will have to tick it if you want to clear your autocomplete history.
I use it all the time.
Before you run it!::
In options, it has a cookie manager. Make sure you keep the ones you use all the time like this site, banking, etc or else you will have to relog each time you run it.
Yeah, I think you need to "clear forms" to get rid of all the traces left.
CCleaner is a great idea Gary. :thumbs_up

bletch,
I have run into this before, also. After I cleared all history, temp internet files, forms/passwords, and all else I could think of, one google search entry still remained. (I do not have google toolbar installed)
After I turned the pc off for the night & rebooted the next morning, all was gone! I am assuming that the restart finished the clearing process. I also ran several spyware/malware, virusscans, & c cleaner. They all came up "clean"...
That is what worked for me - Good Luck!
Regards, katz :)

No problem! I use that program for similar issues, thought I'd spread the word.
