No color, TV-out, SIS 650.

Anybody knows about this problem?

Only black and white on my tv screen when I connect to the tv-out.

You can see the spec. on

http://www.acompinc.com/printable_description.asp?iid=1265

This is what I've tried to fix it:

1. I live in Denmark where we use the PAL system. I have set the bios to PAL.
2. I am using SIS650 driver ver. 2.06
3. The picture on the tv looks fine also when playing movies - but no color.
4. I have tried 2 set of televisions, an old B&O, and a new Grundig 32".
5. I have tried another set of cables
6. I have tried connecting to a VCR.
7. I have no errors in the device-manager
8. I have tried all resolotions and from 256 colors

Any suggestions?

I would be very glad!

thanks

Hello,
I have the same problem. I would be thankful to you and to anybody who would suggest me the solution for this problem.

Thanks in advance

Hi. I'm no expert but it could be one of the following problems:

Your TV may not be S Video compliant. Are you using a svideo to scart connector? If you are, and the tv is not compliant then it WILL come out black & white. I've had the same problem.

On the other hand if you have a svid socket on the TV (and so it must be compliant), try looking for a setting on the actual TV to select 'S-Video' rather than 'RGB / Scart'.

I'm sure the problem is with the TV and not the output. Hope that helps ; )

Hi fellows,

I just had the same Problem: The TV-out of my notebook would only give me b/w pictures on my TV.
It worked with my other PC, so cable and TV should be ok.

Now comes the rediculous part:
I have a PAL TV, so of course I set the video mode in the computer's BIOS to PAL.
When I was about to give up, I tried to set it to NSTC just for fun. And voila! Colour pictures on my TV!
