Can a Mini-DV tape be DIY repaired?

Hi there,

just wondering if anyone has spliced mini dv tapes back together, I used to splice old Audio cassettes and VHS tapes back together with Sellotape, just wondering if it can be done with Mini-dv tapes? If it can or if anyone has successfully done it could they please advise and also tell me what tools they used.

Tape is tape after all, so you should be able to physically repair it. Don't expect you'll be able to read the data for several seconds either side of the splice.
