As many of you already know, Nero is becoming the new Chris Farley. Sure, it's funny to see how big it can get, but eventually it will get so bloated that it will fall over and DIE.

Funny...but true. It's like Norton, McAfee and other anti-virus programs which have tried to become "complete internet security tools" (i.e. all things to all people), and in the process have become unuseable. I think Nero could take a lesson or two from the designer of ImgBurn...

ImgBurn leaves a footprint of 1.8Mb. Ner0 about 500 times the size with an infinitely higher price tag.

And don't forget about the daily support (actually, often within just a few minutes of a problem arising) from the author of ImgBurn (and his mighty Beta Team :D) that doesn't come from corporate types like Ner0, who just couldn't give a damn about their customers.

What a load of rubbish Ner0 is (and always was and always will be).

Bit new to this... it's my first post... and not even sure if its in the right section..?

Anyway... I agree with you about the bloated size of Nero... so when a colleague offered me a Nero8 lite version weighing in at 32Mb I happily de-installed my massive Nero8 full and installed the lite version...

Unfortunately... DVD Shrink, which had previously happily used Nero8 for burning could not find the new lite Nero... I have searched high and low in both program help files and I have now burnt out my patience....

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.... spezzific_mm

Blu is right about suggesting imagburn...
Always used "Nero to burn" until I reluctantly tried Imageburn last year..

So much less excessive baggage using Imagburn although I always did like Nero tools but Plextools does same for me if not better at a fraction of the real estate.....[/COLOR]
