I am trying to create DVDs from .avi files. Useing convertX, I have been able to do it with no problem for a 1:30TRT clip... but now I'm trying to do it for a 15:00TRT clip.

The DVD file spit out by ConvertX is something like 2.8gigs... and my dvd holds 4.7gigs... but when I go to burn, an error message says "file too large >1gb"

My guess is I have to shrink the file... but how? Can I do it useing ConvertX or do I have to buy more software??

Thanks for your help... I'm new to all this.
-Cheers

No - the DVD spec says the max size of a single file is 1Gb (this is to honour old filesystems).

Run your output through any popular transcoder, making sure the split to 1Gb chunks is enabled.

Then burn.

Awesome! Thanks... now... are there any free transcoders?
