I just got a brand new computer with a pretty, up to date, dvd recorder and I want to burn/copy some of my movies.

I have a few questions-

I am using nero essential 7.10.6, this is good enough?

What are the best brands of blank DVD's to buy from common retailers like best-buy?

Is it possible to burn movies onto DVD+R DL's?

Please help a new guy out :)

thank you

Having ditched Nero long ago I'm unfamiliar with the contents of essentials. Does it contain Recode and Nero Burning ROM? If so you should be good with those for compression and burning. You will still need a way of getting your movies onto your HDD for processing, but we can't help in that department as it's not allowed here.

Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden are probably the most widely recommended brands.

Yes, but IMHO it is a waste of money when you can use a program like Recode to compress the movie enough to fit onto a single SL disc.
