First Laptop Build

Hey guys,
It's been forever and I just got back to the states for good. I want to build a gaming laptop and I know you are the ppl to talk to (BR7 pointed me this way) I want to build it as a project so I'm looking to have a good/great LT that will play most games/ play media/ good for editing (I'm still a hack by the way) without walking into some store and seeing the same system for 300 dollars cheaper. As always, I am grateful for any and all help. It's good to be back guys.

there are only a few companies that let you custom design the mix of components in a laptop and then sell it w/o an OS, usually just get a driver cd

Even the best onboard video really limps at games, heat and power issues are something they can't solve with laptops, ram and cpu and hard drive performance come close to desktops tho
