Hi folks,
I need your Expert Help as soon as possible ...
I have this Avatar ... a USA Flag with Text Saying "PROUD TO BE AMERICAN" ... now I downloaded from somewhere can't remember where ...
I want to have an American Flag similar to this jpg with Text Saying "COUNTRY FIRST". Same lettering and color will be just fine.
Can someone use this jpg and redo it for me to look good. I plan to use it as my Avatar.
I have also included a Blank USA flag ... BTW, I am not too crazy about this blank ... since the Colors are not as VIBRANT ... If one of you folks have an American Flag with really SHARP and VIBRANT Colors use that to modify.
Also, I want to keep it 120x120 ... since some sites mandate a 120x120 size. Notice my Proud To Be American Avatar eventhough is 115X115 it looks larger than the Blank USA Flag at 145X136!?!?
Q: How is that possible!?!?
I tried using "Paint" program and it is just not the same and it leaves a lousy looking WHITE background ... it does not lay on the flag.
Thanks,
G!:)

1) Adobe Photoshop CS2
2) Nothing very complicated. Used the Clone Stamp to remove the original text. Put the new text and did some modifications to the text(bevel, drop shadow etc.) via layer style.
3) Can be done easily, but the white colour of the "Y" in COUNTRY may not be prominent against the whitish backdrop. However, FIRST may be lowered keeping COUNTRY in place.Let me see how it looks.

Hi Paglamon,
THANKS again ...
I am too cheap to buy the PhotoShop right now ... but looks like I have to save for it and do it.
Also, see if some other Color of Text will look Better ... then use that ... since you mess around with Pictures a lot .. you most likely have a Better Eye for these sort of stuff.
All I want ... it is to make sure the Flag looks good and the Text "Pops Up" on it ... so people can Notice the Slogan.
Surprise me ...
THANKS!
G!:)

paglamon - you can do that with GIMP, can't you? That is a free program, & I have used it to overlay images/text in the past.

Looks great. He is incredible. I have learned so much from his posts, many of which are still over my head.
However I am trying.
We are truly blessed with all the variety and wealth of knowledge from our members here.

you can do that with GIMP, can't you?
Yes. I think you can. But then,I am so used to PS that I have never tried it. UncasMS is the real expert with these and he can tell whether GIMP can do all that PS can. I will download the portable version and try it soon.
Looks great. He is incredible.
@burrell,
Thank you. But I really do not deserve this much praise friend.
I have learned so much from his posts, many of which are still over my head.
Sometimes they are over my head too. :)

My first impressions about GIMP :
1.)The UI is a bit clumsy.
2.) I miss most of my Photoshop plugins. PSPI does not help me with Imagenomic Noiseware or Knoll Light Factory. And I could not find a noise removal GIMP-compatible filter that could come anywhere near Noiseware.
3.)Lack of preview in many filters is frustrating.
4.)Text support and editing is really pathetic compared to PS. In fact ,in my short time with GIMP, this was the weakest part in it.
But.....
GIMP is free and really can do most of the commonly used photo-editing tasks quite brilliantly. And I loved that BUMPMAPPING...... really cool. :)
