Can you help solve my DVD Flick issue?

Trying to burn a movie file on to a dvd using DVD Flicks (and following the easy instructions to the word) and I get through the whole process just fine UNTIL the "img burn" pop up window begins after the "finalize" part of the embedding. Looks like the image log is listing fine then it stops immediately (the 3 times I've tried it, saying the same thing):
Img Burn window says repeatedly, "I/O Error Interpretation: Invalid address for write
The Img Burn Log say, (with a yellow warning sign) "Retry failed Reason Invalid reason for Write" Thus, the burns failed.

My writer is a HP DVD Writer 640c CS30 that came with my PC. If you could help with my problem, I'd greatly appreciate! I only know so much and I'm frustrated. Thanks!

Post the ImgBurn log. Ensure ImgBurn is up to date.

An actual log would be really helpful as that screenshot is hard to read.
You need to unhide hidden folders
It is located in user/appdata/roaming/imgburn/log files

Attach that log and that will help a bunch

That drive is so old, (Benq 1625) looks like a firmware problem

You might try this file from HP but i would reccomend buying a new drive

Seems like your swimming with what's going on. We were all there. That's how we learn.

Seems like your best bet to post a log for us is this:

Open Imgburn. On the top you will see a menu bar. On the right is help. Click that and go to Imgburn logs.

Now it just opened the location of your logs, but that location is actually hidden by windows. Thats okay. We will make a copy that you can find easier.

So right click on the file and click copy. Now go to a blank area on your desktop and click paste. Now it will be visible for you to attach it to a post for us to see.

BTW With Chewy's post on your burner being old, He great about calling it right on.

You might be able to solve this time, and we will try, but you can get a descent replacement for under $30.00 USD

@GreySage I had an HP 640b that used to crap out on Finalize every time with any Imgburn newer than version 1.0. A firmware update fixed it up. As experiment try downloading Imgburn 1.0 and see if the burn will complete.

I personally when using DVD Flick ... never use the ImgBurn within that program ... I make the DVD and ISO and then later separately burn the ISO using ImgBurn ... I feel that could cut down on probable problems.

I make a video ts folder and check playability(sound sync etc) with power dvd before burning

What drive would you recommend to buy? Just for normal home personal burning video use, a "does the job" one, nothing fancy, and priced within reason?

I was thinking of getting a new DVD drive, and I bought the Sony from Newegg. Good price and with free shipping it is better just to wait. If I were to buy the drive locally, I would have to pay taxes and if I had it shipped that would also be another charge.

Just on my gut feeling i would go with a Samsung Pata

My chipset does not support Sata optical drives

But I am using my Benq 1620 for most burns with a Benq 1650 in reserve

Probably build a new computer before i buy another dvd burner?

I wish I had bought 3 or 4 each of these GREAT burners ... BenQ 1640 & 1650/1655 ... man these are the BEST ... they handle any Media and give Great Burns every time. And the QSuite ... what a Great Program.
