First of all you should know some info on my machine

AMD
266MH
64 RAM
No 3Dfx Card

Divx Player : DivX Player 2.0 Alpha
Codec : DivX 5.0.1

Now the problem is :

I have Spider-man DivX which I want to watch. The problem is my PC is so slow that the movie freezes and hacks all the way through. Therefor I have tried burning the movie onto a CD. That didn't improve the speed. I have since tried to use DivX Player 2.0 Alpha to lessen the quality and improve performance. That worked but there was one problem. When I view movies in Divx Player 2.0 Alpha, only the top-left corner of the movie appears. Even in full screen. I have tried everything. Editing the aspect ration, video size everything.

So I was wondering. Is there anything else I can do or does anyone know another Player which supports the "lessening the quality to improve performance" feature?

I would really appreciate the help

266MHz maybe to low to play it. There is no way to reduce the cpu-usage if you allready disabled all quality-enhancing options. Only a few tipps:

- use a low screen-resolution
- lower colordepth to 16bit
- use sasami2K-player (it's not the best, but I think it's very fast)
- overclock your cpu

If nothing helpes and you don't want to buy a new cpu, you can reencode the movie to a codec that uses less cpu-power, but you will get a (much) bigger filesize.

Or create a VCD from the video.

The conversion might take quite some time on your system though...
